Enon resident Trey Blevins is scheduled to appear in Greene County Common Pleas Court with his attorney Jon Paul Rion on February 8 for pretrial.\u00a0 His trial for charges of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide is to be held before Judge Stephen A Wolaver on March 11, 2019.\u00a0 He is charged in the deaths of Greenon students David Waag and Connor Williams.<\/p>\n
Township resident Raymond Roberts has been found competent to stand trial for the attempted murder of his wife Jessica in the fall of last year.\u00a0 He allegedly cut his wife\u2019s throat and followed her to Mayberry\u2019s Store on Rt 68 where he rammed her car and fled the scene.\u00a0 He was the focus of a nationwide manhunt prior to his arrest in Springfield Township.\u00a0 He is scheduled to appear before Clark County Common Pleas Court Judge Douglas M. Rastatter for pretrial on January 31 with a jury trial scheduled for March 11.<\/p>\n
\u00a0It should be noted that Belvins and Roberts share the same attorney and trial dates could change due to the conflict.<\/p>\n
The Village of Enon has received 20 applications for the position of Village Administrator.\u00a0 At their meeting this week, they also announced changes to the community participation committees of Planning and Board of Zoning Appeals.<\/p>\n
Repairs to the Main Street water tower have been completed by village crews who had to retrofit a new valve at a cost of $7,000.\u00a0 By doing the work with Village crews the estimated cost of $20,000 was reduced.\u00a0 The original valve dated back to 1958.<\/p>\n
At their meeting, the Mad River Township Trustees announced that there is a matter before the Clark County zoning board regarding a change for a plot of land located near the O\u2019Reilly Auto Parts and UDF store for a store and lock facility.\u00a0 The zoning desired is B4 which could invite less desirable forms of business to the area.<\/p>\n
The trustees agreed to place a fire and EMS renewal levy on the May ballot.<\/p>\n
An independent report on the call for emergency services was provided at the meeting.\u00a0 Trustees entered an executive session prior to the report being made public at the meeting.<\/p>\n
The investigation into the 40 minute delayed response in early January was completed by the Chief from Miami Township in Greene County.\u00a0 In his report he noted that he had listened to the call tapes and reported that there was no intentional delay in the response.<\/p>\n
The report given to the township trustees did indicate that the use of in home dispatchers needs to be addressed as this is no longer the current industry standard.\u00a0 He encouraged them to consider moving to a larger network system.<\/p>\n
