Anyone in attendance who thought the Central Buckeye Conference girls cross country league meet would come down to Tecumseh and Greenon was absolutely right. Easily outdistancing everyone else in the league, Greenon captured the girls’ race with four top 10 finishers, and scored a team total of 38 points. Finishing a close second was Tecumseh with 46 points, also with four top 10 placers.
Winning the girls race was Greenon’s MacKenzie McMillin with a time of 19:56.47, ten seconds ahead of the runner-up, Tecumseh sophomore Kaitlin Ritter (20:07.67). Ritter had company, as teammate Jaci Combs was third overall with a finish of 20:16.03, while Greenon’s Lianne Masquelier placed fourth, with a time of 20:28.75. Addie Biteman from Tecumseh was fifth, racing a 20:30.11, with teammate Allison Gibson one spot behind her at sixth, and a time of 20:31.92. Greenon’s Erica Miller was seventh, finishing in a time of 20:39.31. In reality, the top seven spots were held down by either Greenon or Tecumseh kids, showing the dominance on the day for the two schools in the league. Not to be outdone, placing tenth was Mary Wenzell of Greenon (20:56.80). The remainder of Greenon’s top finishers were Brittany Kozak (11th, 21:51.33), Sydney Lewis (28th, 22:30:39), Kelli Barker (47th, 23:12.29) and Katherine Shriver (51st, 23;23.23). For Tecumseh, finishing 31st was MacKenzie Tittle with a time of 22;37.91, while one spot behind was Carma Berry at 22:39.35. Megan Davis was 36th (22:48.30), and Janelle Seitz was 44th (23:06.45). On the boys side, Tecumseh placed fourth as a team, and Greenon sixth. The Arrows were led by Eric Allen, who finished eleventh overall with a time of 17:23.00, with Andy Gemmaka (22nd, 18:12.19), Alex Gillen (26th, 18:15.42), Joe Nau (31st, 18:31.38), Andrew Thomas (33rd, 18:33.95) and Scott Harmon (51st, 19:01.88) all behind Allen. Greenon was led by Brandon McNeil with a time of 17:46.01, placing him 16th overall. Also placing were Seth Currier (23rd, 18:12.96), Joshua McReynolds (24th, 18:13.50), Andy Caldwell (38th, 18:40.29), Kyle McNeely (47th, 18:58.45) and Daniel Pensworth (50th, 19:01.77). The Tecumseh Lady Arrows finished sixth overall in the middle school girls’ race, led by Staci Harmon who ran a 14:17.20. Greenon’s top finisher was Danielle Swauger at 15:36.20. |
