Anna Maxim, 88 of Enon passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011 in Stafford, Virginia.

She was born February 5, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Eleftarius and Sophia Rakos.

 

Anna was a homemaker and lived a life committed to her family and her church. Over her lifetime she served others in many types of volunteer work such as teaching Sunday School , working with brain-injured children and underprivileged preschoolers, tutoring adults in literacy. Even in her 70’s she was trained and participated in the Ohio Reads program for elementary students struggling in reading at Enon Elementary.

She enjoyed being a part of the Arthritis swim class at the YMCA in Springfield for many years. She spent much her time in her older years enjoying her grandchildren.

She was always known for her hospitality and for sharing her faith in Jesus, her Savior.

She is survived by two daughters, Susane Brunson of Stafford,

Virginia, Janet and Timothy Ogden of Enon, two sons, Paul and Janet Maxim of Stafford, Virginia, Thomas Forrest of Lyons, Colorado, twenty grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous friends. Anna was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Wilson Maxim. Funeral Service will be conducted 1:00 pm Friday, October 14, 2011 in Adkins Funeral Home, Enon with Joseph Arthungal of the Fairborn Christian Fellowship and Paul Maxim officiating. Burial will follow the service in Enon Cemetery, Enon. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
