Paul B. Boyer, 89, of Enon died peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2011 at Friends Care Community in Yellow Springs.
He was the loving husband of Virginia (Ark) Boyer whom he first met at the age of 13 in Deshler, Ohio, where they later married on June 21, 1942. They would have been married 69 years in June.
Paul was a 1940 graduate of Deshler High School and he attended Bowling Green State University.  Paul was a proud Veteran of WWII, serving our country as a B-24 pilot, 446th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force in the European Theater.  During the Korean War he flew multi-engine aircraft as a test pilot.  He retired in 1974 as a Major in the Air Force Reserves and as a Systems Engineer in Aeronautical Systems Division, WPAFB with over 32 years of service. 
He was a member of Enon Knob Prairie United Church of Christ.  He enjoyed a wide range of interests including music, gardening, his pets, automobiles, astronomy and trains. 
He and his wife enjoyed wintering in Seminole, Florida for 30 years. 
He was the devoted son of Levoy and Leona (Spangler) Boyer who preceded him in death, as did his brothers Beryl and Dale. 
Surviving Paul is his wife Virginia; children Paula Boyer Campbell of New Holland, PA, David Boyer of Springfield, and John (Dawn) Boyer of Enon; grandchildren Amy Campbell (Harry) Stoltzfus of Lancaster, PA, Major Mark (Missy) Campbell of San Antonio, TX, Jennifer (Matt Cooney) Boyer of Yellow Springs, Joshua Boyer of Columbus, Brad (Laura) Boyer and Amelia Boyer of South Charleston; great grandchildren Aurelia, Demetria, Stilicho and Trajan Campbell, Jack Stoltzfus, Kael and Donovan Cooney, and Avery Boyer.  He will also be sadly missed by his brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.  The family is grateful for the compassionate and excellent care provided by both Friends Care Community and Vitas Hospice. 
Arrangements for Paul have been entrusted to the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.  A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. 
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Paul’s name to the Enon Knob Prairie United Church of Christ Building Fund.
