Erma J. Edington, 69, of Springfield died unexpectedly Saturday evening, June 5, 2010 in her residence.

She was born September 13, 1940 in Washington Court House, OH the daughter of Hugh and Maisey (Vance) Rodgers.

She retired as a registered nurse from Mercy Medical Center after thirty-nine years of service and was currently employed by Surgical Associates for the past several years.

She is a 1961 graduate of Community Hospital School of Nursing.

Survivors include two children and spouse, Brett Edington, Enon, OH, Heather and Nick Maddalena, Springfield; three grandchildren, Dominic, Sophia and Lucia Maddalena; sister, Alice Wills, Washington Court House, OH and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Olan L. in 2002, two sisters and two brothers, Pauline Ryan, Sonny Rodgers, Sam Rodgers and Joretta Lowe.

Erma was a loving mother, grandmother and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Conroy Funeral Home, Springfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Rev. Joe Flora officiating.
