Enon area families now have an alternative to the restaurant row of nearby retails areas.
The Enon VFW located at 5075 Enon-Xenia Road is now open to the community serving “great food at a good price” according to Trustee Jim Branham. On Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., the whole family can stop by for Pizza Night. Starting at just $6 you can build your pizza with favorite toppings at a minimal cost. Fifty-cent wings are offered, and if you prefer a little pasta, they serve an All You Can Eat Spaghetti dinner for just $7. Saturday nights from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. is an opportunity to meet friends and family for a hearty dinner. The last Saturday of the month is Steak Night, featuring a 12-oz. New York Strip cooked to order with baked potato, salad and vegetable for the affordable price of $10. According to Jim Branham, Trustee, a menu is available just inside the door. Entrees change weekly and include Baby Back Ribs, Stuffed Chicken, Stuffed Pork Chops and more. Beer and wine is available, and Yuengling has come to town on tap or in bottles. On Sunday morning from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. an all you can eat breakfast is served. You can enjoy eggs cooked to order, sausage gravy, biscuits, bacon, sausage, fried potatoes, waffles or pancakes with coffee, milk and orange juice -- all for just $6.00. Branham explained that this is a casual dining experience with members of the VFW cooking and serving the meals. The proceeds generated by the program return to the community when the VFW sponsors the annual July 4th fireworks and supports the Pee Wee football field and the Fairborn Fire Hawks baseball team. This group will be starting a new Enon traveling team later this year, according to Branham. The fifteen-acre complex and building are also maintained with a portion of the funds. If you are looking for a change from waiting for a seat or driving out of the area, stop by the VFW and enjoy a meal.
