| Vehicle Fire Forces Evacuation of Hardware Store |

A vehicle caught fire Saturday afternoon near the only entrance to the Village Hardware store. According to police reports, a passerby informed Enon Police officer David Oty of a car on fire. Oty notified the Clark County Sheriff’s office and the Enon/Mad River Township Fire Department. Oty saw the vehicle, a 1983 Mercedes, running and on fire. Oty cleared out the parking lot and evacuated the store. He then took his fire extinguisher and put out the burning fuel that had leaked near the door of the store. The vehicle was a total loss, and there was some fire damage to the building. |
