According to court documents,  Enon Police Officer Vikki Adams has filed a complaint In Clark County Common Pleas Court regarding her termination, following the filing of a worker’s compensation claim.     The complaint names the Village of Enon as the defendant in the case,  with damages in excess of $25,000.
In the documents, it is stated that Adams was an employee of the police department since 1996.  In January of 2009, Adams fell in the Village parking lot which resulted in a broken rib, torn rotator cuffs, and additional injuries to her shoulder, neck, and elbow.  She filed a worker’s compensation claim following the incident and has had several surgeries, with the most recent occurring in October of 2011.
Around the ninth of November, Adams received a certified letter from the village, terminating her employmen,t prior to her being released to return to work for being on workman’s compensation leave.  The complaint states that the village violated Section 4123.90 of the Ohio Revised Code when Adams was terminated.  It is alleged that the underlying purpose for the termination was retaliation for Adams' filing of worker’s compensation claims. The complaint is requesting a jury trial, with judgment against the village of Enon, including back pay, benefits,  pain and suffering, attorney fees, and reinstatement.  Adams is being represented by a Columbus law firm.  A court date has not been set as of the writing of this story.
