Enon Village Council President Rick Hanna read a statement at the May 28, 2019 meeting of the Enon Village Council in the absence of Mayor Tim Howard.

The statement acknowledged that Hanna and Howard attended the Friday, May 24 special meeting of the Mad River Township Board of Trustees hired 12 new members pending background checks.

The Village leadership is monitoring the situation and Hanna stated that following a meeting with trustee Estep, the “investigation is not over” but did not give any details on what that might mean.

Hanna assured the community that the Village leadership expressed concerns to Estep during their meeting and that comments from residents were taken seriously by the Village.

Hanna also thanked the members who stayed and recognized those who left for their dedication to the community for many years.

He thanked Maxine McKee, Mike Bostick and Larry Bostick for their dedication to the community.  He also acknowledged the long time commitment of Cory Scanlon, Jeremy Leist, John and Kiley Heath, Mike and Leslie Gardone, Ben Beair, Nick Thornton and Elmer Beard as well as all the others who have left in the past year.

In other business the Village is reminding residents that they will be enforcing the yard waste ordinance.  You are not permitted to blow grass clippings and other debris into the roadway.  Ten letters related to overgrown property and other nuisances were mailed this week.

The Police Department will host the annual Pizza Festival on Saturday, June 8 and all are welcome to come and enjoy the free music while purchasing pizza and other items from vendors.

The Mad River Township Trustees meet the first and third Monday each month at 7:30 at the fire house and the Village meets the second and fourth Tuesday at 7 at the Government Center.
